The Story Behind Maison Ynoma
Maison Ynoma is an independent publishing house based in Brussels, working under a traditional publisher model.
We publish contemporary novels driven by a strong vision — at the crossroads of literary quality, psychological depth, and immersive storytelling. Each selected manuscript undergoes a rigorous editorial process, designed to reveal the singularity of the work without erasing its edges. We champion writing that is sharp, daring, and free from trends or algorithms. Our editorial decisions are thoughtful, precise, and made in pursuit of quality over quantity. When a book is published under the Maison Ynoma imprint, it receives clear artistic direction, professional support, and a respectful publishing path.
In addition to its publishing activity, Maison Ynoma also supports independent authors and professional clients: manuscript assessments, rewriting, literary translation, and artistic direction. Each project is handled with the same demand for quality and the same attention to detail.
We are building our catalogue — and our collaborations — with care, patience, and conviction.
What We’re Looking For :
We welcome psychological novels, dystopias, science fiction, thrillers, introspective works, and socially engaged narratives — including those that disturb, provoke, or resist easy classification.
Two Clear Paths for Collaboration
Maison Ynoma offers two distinct ways of working with authors, always tailored to their real needs.
1. Accompanied Self-Publishing
Some authors prefer to retain full rights and receive 100% of their sales. In these cases, editorial support (rewriting, strategy, translation, cover design, etc.) is provided transparently as a professional service.
2. Traditional Publishing under Our Imprint
For authors who wish to be published under the Maison Ynoma label, all costs are covered by the house, and a publishing contract is offered with a clearly defined revenue share.
Approaches may differ, but our standard remains constant.

Q/A
-
A: Not at all. You’re welcome to come with an idea, an outline, a few pages — or even just a vague desire to write. The purpose of our first conversations is precisely to explore how your project can take shape.
-
A: No. Maison Ynoma is dedicated to psychological, unsettling or unconventional narratives — whether contemporary, dystopian, or introspective. If your novel explores the darker corners of the human mind, emotional complexity, or the silence that wounds, you’re in the right place. Classic feel-good stories or purely commercial fiction are not our focus.
-
A: Yes. Depending on your project, we offer either tailored support for self-publishing or direct publication under the Maison Ynoma imprint. Each manuscript is carefully reviewed, and the best path is chosen together.
-
A: Maison Ynoma accepts payments by bank transfer, accompanied by a formal invoice.
A 25% deposit is requested upon signature of the quote to confirm the collaboration.
The remaining balance is then settled according to a defined schedule, based on the manuscript’s length and the stages of work (assessment, editing, translation, typesetting…).
Each validated stage gives rise to a transparent invoice, allowing you to follow the progress of the project with complete peace of mind.
-
A: Absolutely. Every exchange, every manuscript, every note is treated with strict confidentiality. Nothing will ever be shared or reused without your explicit consent.
-
A: Every engagement is made consciously. If an unexpected situation arises, we’re open to discussing a reschedule or adjustment. However, no automatic refund is guaranteed. Each case is considered with care and understanding.
-
A: Maison Ynoma does not accept manuscripts via private messages (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.).
All submissions must be sent exclusively to the following email address: manuscrit@maisonynoma.com.
This process ensures a clear, confidential, and fair review for every project. -
A: We accept the first three chapters of your manuscript, sent exclusively in .PDF or .DOCX (Word) format.
Please make sure the layout is clean and readable — no special effects or distracting typography. -
A: No.
Maison Ynoma is a traditional independent publishing house.
If your manuscript is selected and you accept our offer, you pay nothing — no reading fees, no publishing fees, no hidden costs.
We do not practice vanity publishing or crowdfunding-based models. -
A: We aim to reply within 30 to 60 days.
This timeframe may vary depending on the volume of submissions.
If you haven’t heard from us after that period, it means your manuscript was not selected. -
A: Yes — as long as:
– You are the sole author of the work,
– The manuscript is not under contract elsewhere,
– And you are open to a full editorial relaunch if needed (title, etc.).
